Question about criminal background checks concerning a job and a new apartment?

Is there anywhere I can get a free background check on myself? I’m trying to apply for jobs, and I think there is an arrest record for April of 2005, but there shouldn’t be a conviction or anything like that. I’d like to know before I start sending out my resume…

Also, I’d like to know… since I do not have a conviction, does the arrest count against me while trying to find an apartment? I know some will not rent to convicted felons but I am not convicted… thank you!

When you get hired on by an apartment complex do they perform criminal background checks and drug test ?

What is the purpose of apartment complexes doing criminal background checks?

I was held at gunpoint by a neighbor and was wondering how could he have gotten a lease with the apartments with a criminal history of several incidents.
Also he was arrested but let out on all of the incidents. I was thinking about suing the apartment but people on here stated that the apt wasnt responsible for his actions. So why do they do the criminal background checks if they gonna allow criminals to live on their property?
The apartment was in his name.

i have a criminal history and i need to find someplace i can rent a house or apartment that won’t check my background.

Background Criminal Checks to rent an apartment?

I’ve applied to rent an apartment in TX and they are waiting for my criminal background check from CA(where i’m from originally) How far back do they check and how in depth will they go. I have a felony on my record that occurred 14 years ago. Will this blow my chances on getting my apartment. Any info or answers would be appreciated
